Technical Service for MJP Waterjet Systems

Marine Jet Power (MJP) is a Swedish manufacturer that has been building waterjet propulsion systems for many years. Its product family comprises the DRB and CSU lines with duplex stainless steel mixed-flow pumps, the aluminium axial-flow UltraJet series, and the X series developed for high-speed applications.

These systems are used on fast ferries, patrol and response boats, workboats and yachts. Because they run at high speed and under continuous load, renewing wear parts on time is the basic condition for sustained performance.

At Gürfa Denizcilik, we provide independent technical service for MJP waterjet systems. We carry out pump unit overhaul, wear part renewal and genuine spare parts supply.

Wear and Service Intervals

Wear in waterjet systems follows a different course than in propeller-driven systems. When the water passing through the pump carries suspended solids and debris, wear develops on the impeller blades and the inner surface of the housing. This wear first reduces efficiency, then produces imbalance and vibration.

Vibration wears the bearings and seals. If nothing is done at this point, a situation that could initially have been resolved by replacing a wear part turns into a complete pump unit overhaul.

The maintenance interval varies with the series, the running hours and the water conditions the vessel operates in. On craft working in waters heavy with debris or suspended solids, wear progresses faster and inspections should be more frequent.

Work that requires a machine, such as impeller inspection, measurement and balancing, is done at our workshop in Tuzla.

We plan the work together with you around the vessel's operating schedule, fitting whatever we can between voyages to keep downtime short.
