Mitsubishi Kakoki Selfjector Separators

Selfjector is the brand name of the centrifugal oil and fuel separators manufactured by Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha (MKK). They are used to separate water and solid particles from the heavy fuel oil, diesel oil and lubricating oils used in ships’ main engines and generators.

At Gürfa Denizcilik, we carry out complete overhaul, bowl balancing, disc stack maintenance and genuine spare parts supply for this equipment. After every operation, we test the machine and put it back into service.

Our Overhaul Process

Disassembly and Condition Assessment

The separator is fully disassembled; wear, deformation and deposits on the bowl, disc stack, shaft and housing are assessed.

Chemical Cleaning

Sludge and carbon deposits on the bowl, disc stack and housing are dissolved by chemical methods and completely removed.

Measurement, Balancing and Parts Renewal

The shaft and bowl are measured, the bowl is balanced on the balancing machine; bearings, seals and gasket sets are renewed with genuine parts.

04

Assembly, Testing and Commissioning

The machine is reassembled, tested with speed and vibration values checked, and handed over in running condition.

Common Faults

Excessive Vibration

Usually caused by loss of bowl balance, uneven deposits in the disc stack or wear in the shaft bearings.

Drop in Separation Efficiency

May result from deposits in the disc stack, incorrect gravity disc selection or gasket leaks.

No Discharge or Continuous Discharge

Requires inspection of the operating water circuit, pilot valve and discharge mechanism.

Oil Leakage

Worn seal and O-ring sets are the most common cause.
